Luke Donald has said that he is looking to win the U.S. Open this season as the major prize. England's Donald, 33, begins his US Open campaign on Thursday after 15 top-10 finishes in his last 16 tournaments.
Still without a major trophy, Donald said: "Being number one is a great achievement, but I would love to take his majors and number of victories.

GARCIA AND TROMBLEY SET TO BATTLE
Shamir Garcia and Lee Trombley are all set to battle in one of the fiercest MMA battles. "Trombley is like a cobra," said Garcia, a promising mixed martial arts fighter from Westland. "Bang -- he'll strike and it could be all over. I want to beat him to the punch. I'm ready to go toe-to-toe with him."
Garcia, 22, is the No. 1 light heavyweight in Michigan. He'll defend his title against Trombley, 30, who is from Ann Arbor and ranked No. 2.
COLEMAN SPEAKS ABOUT MICHIGAN
UFC Hall of Famer Mark (The Hammer) Coleman and student Josh (The Hammer) Burns of Dexter have more in common than their nicknames.
Coleman and Burns both attended Ohio State, where they wrestled and rooted for the Buckeyes against the Wolverines in Big Ten football every fall.
On Friday, Coleman, an NCCA collegiate wrestling champion and Olympian, and Burns, who once boxed at the Kronk Gym, will team up at the Palace for the Impact Fight League's "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" pro MMA show. Coleman has a free bet on Burns to win in 3 rounds!
Coleman, who fought the likes of Dan Severn, Pedro Rizzo, Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture in classic UFC bouts, will be in Burns' corner when he takes on Warren's powerful Jeff Kugel, a former OHL hockey player, in a heavyweight contest.
JONES MMA FIGHT BEGINS
Tito Jones is set to once again start to the MMA career in Michigan on Friday. He is part of the 14-fight “St. Valentine’s Day Massacre” card at the Palace of Auburn Hills (Mich.) where he will compete in the bantamweight division, or 135 pounds. This is the Bay County native’s first fight since Oct. 30, 2009, when he recorded a unanimous decision in an event in Japan.

David Rohn has finally found something worth fighting for. Rohn, 25, grew up in one of Muskegon's rougher neighborhoods, where fighting was a part of his everyday life.
He eventually channeled his aggression into an outlet on the football field, but poor decisions cost him a chance to play college ball. His life was spiraling out of control until two years ago, when, as he put it, he finally decided it was time to grow up.

The sport of mixed martial arts, or MMA, has drastically risen in popularity across the country in recent years and Michigan is no exception, as many sanctioned events have been popping up all across the state.
On Dec. 11 the MMA will be coming to Grayling and bringing with it fights that will include local and area talent.
MICHIGAN STAR SETS UP IN MMA
Glen Rice, Michigan's all-time leading scorer in basketball, wants to bring a new venture of his to Ann Arbor. But the endeavor has nothing to do with basketball.
Rice, who finished his Wolverines career with 2,442 points, is now a mixed martial arts promoter. His company is called GForce Promotions, and he hopes to eventually stage an event on the University of Michigan campus.
